TRIBUTE TO OUR AITV5 STAFF WHO GRADUATED THIS YEAR!
The Graduates Staff of AITV5, from left Abril Millapre, John Paul Lavadia, Fr. Abe, CRS Joey Enalpe & Jerome Divina.
This year four of the technical staff of our TV station graduated in College with the course Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering [BSECE]. The entire station celebrated the Graduation with joy and gratitude to the Lord but at the same time we are feeling the pain of loosing these four intelligent, dedicated and hard working young men as part of our technical staff.
The Graduates with Fr. Abe again and this time Mr. James Arevalo joins them.
For several years these boys were the lifeblood of the only TV station in Sorsogon Province. They were doing stuff that are being done by professionals and experts on the field in other station. But, here armed only with sheer talents, guts, willingness to learn and a full time school scholarship they produced wonders such as the airing of regular weekly programs of the Provincial Governor, the City Mayor, a Catechetical Program and probably the only pure Apologetic TV program in the entire Philippines -- The Splendor of the Church.
The ever hard working Technical Director of AITV5, Mr. Rosauro Amistoso, checking each of the camera before the live broadcast of Aemilianum College Graduation Rites.
I also want to express gratitude to Fr. Paolo Alutto, CRS and Mr. Rosauro Amistoso, our Technical Director, for training these boys into the young men that they are now. Every day they accompany a reporter to go around the city and even in other parts of the province to gather local news. Then, they edit their footages before presenting them to the News Director. They mix the sound, etc. and every single day they provide the people of Sorsogon news reports in the native dialect: Bicol. So that they became part of the living history of the culture and history of the Province.
The AITV5 Girls serving as usherettes during the College Graduation Ceremony. They are from left: Ms. Michell Bonaobra, Ms. Estelita Basares & Ms. Margarita Pacay. Well, Fr. Abe felt like Bosley of the Charlie's Angels fame.
Before they graduate, Fr. Abe organized their female counterparts -- the news reporters and newscasters for a special presentation in their honor. Their assistants together with the girls secretly visited their homes, interviewed their parents and dear ones, including their classmates and they were presented in the special presentation of CAMPUS TALK. And a day before the graduation, Fr. Abe summoned them without prior notice to be the guests in that program which they were previously covering behind the cameras. They were very shy to face the camera but being the bright mathematicians that they are they eventually overcame it. The program usually interviews live prominent politicians, renown educators, popular achievers and movers in Sorsogon society, religious leaders and artists, then it was their turn to be on the spotlight.
The Graduating Technical Staff live on Campus Talk as guests. They are watching with delight the special presentations prepared by their companions secretly for them.
While they were speaking live on TV, the girls were cooking special food in the Somascan convent kitchen. And right after the program they were surprised to be offered the simple snacks lovingly prepared by their own companions whom they learned to love as sisters and best friends.
Fr. Abe, the AITV5 station manager appeared on Campus Talk to express gratitude to each of the graduating staff and to bid them adieu after serving for several years as full scholar of the Aemilianum College & the station.
In the final quarter of the program, their station manager was called by the host, Mr. Manny Ferrer, and Fr. Abe, CRS expressed his gratitude, congratulations and blessings to each of the boys in behalf of Fr. Richard Germanetto, CRS and the entire Somascan Community of Aemilianum College. He also expressed to them the affection of Fr. Paolo who is now serving in Brazil. Fr. Abe said that in the previous years there were occasions when Fr. Paolo had to expel some scholars because of lack of seriousness and dedication or for dereliction of duties. But, on his part he is very grateful that the first batch he handled [them] he was not necessitated to remove or expel anyone because each of them served superbly. As a sign of affection and recognition of their contribution to the station, the school and the people of Sorsogon, each of them shall be given a medal of excellence and a certificate of recognition to be handed during the Graduation Rites. And Fr. Abe did give them the honors last March 30, 2008 as promised.
TO ABRIL, JOHN PAUL, JEROME AND JOEY: GOD BLESS YOU AND MAY THE LORD FILL YOU WITH HIS GRACE AND PEACE, NOW AND FOREVER. CONGRATULATIONS ONCE AGAIN AND ADIEU!
