Everything You Ever Wanted to Know

Everything You Ever Wanted to Know
about the Catholic Faith—
All in One Place!

An Exciting New Project will use
the Power of the Internet
to Bring the Catholic Faith
to the Entire World!

Dear Friend of Catholic Answers,

What if just about every single shred of knowledge and information regarding the Catholic Church—its doctrines, its history, its people … its everything—could be put into one place … one source … that could be instantly and easily accessed by anyone on the planet at the touch of a button?

What would that be worth to the teaching mission of the Church in today’s Information Age?

I’ll tell you what I think it would be: priceless.

That’s why—not long ago—Catholic Answers embarked upon a bold new project to create such a resource. And I’m happy to announce to you now that we are ready to launch it.

What is it?

Have you heard of Wikipedia?

It’s the Internet-based encyclopedia that has taken the world by storm—even rivaling the esteemed Encyclopedia Britannica.

The unique character of Wikipedia is that the content is authored and submitted by the users themselves—making it a two-way interactive resource that far surpasses the limitations of traditional published information.

The term “wiki” comes from the Hawaiian word meaning “very fast.” That name was chosen because the content of something like Wikipedia grows very fast—precisely because thousands upon thousands of people are contributing new content to it all the time. In the traditional publishing model, you typically have a small staff churning out content “9 to 5”… and that’s it.

Not so with a worldwide wiki. Content gets submitted 24/7, 365 days a year.

Plus, the content is just as quickly reviewed by thousands of users, checked for accuracy, corrected when necessary, and constantly updated.

Another great feature of a wiki is its ability to cross-reference—through the use of web hyperlinks (those blue-text underlined phrases you can click on for further information).

The hyperlinks connect everything in the content of a given article to everything related to it, taking you instantly to another article covering the topic that you clicked on.

If you use the Internet at all, I’m sure you’re familiar with how those work, so I won’t belabor the point.

The exciting thing is that now we’re creating our own version of a Catholic wiki—an online encyclopedia pertaining to all things Catholic.

What will it Do?

In a nutshell, it will help spread the faith like never before—because it will be the fastest and cheapest way to teach people all about the Catholic Church … like nothing mankind has ever seen.

Everything about Catholicism will be contained in this Catholic wiki—beginning with the original Catholic Encyclopedia that we recently added to our site.

From there, it will grow to include thousands of new articles—virtually in no time.

We will have a corps of approved volunteers who will review and update the site on a continual basis—constantly making sure that everything is correct and presented in the proper way.

In no time, this new resource will be the essential “go to” source for Catholic apologetics, doctrine, history, and evangelization.

And, unlike Wikipedia, our wiki will be under Catholic control—making sure that the Catholic message is presented faithfully, accurately, and without the distortion of a non-Catholic perspective.

This alone will draw millions of people from around the world to our web site—thereby greatly expanding the reach of Catholic Answers and our core apologetics mission.

Thus, for the first time in our history, we will be able to use the latest Internet technology to defend and spread the Catholic faith.

Only one problem …

We Need Your Help
to get it off the Ground

Like all our new and exciting projects that we come up with at Catholic Answers, this one will cost money to launch.

That means we must turn to you and our other faithful supporters for the “seed money” to get this wonderful new project off to a good start. By clicking here now, you can help us continue this exciting endeavor.

Presently, we’re in need of $85,000 to launch the Catholic wiki project—mostly because we’ll need to purchase vastly increased “bandwidth” (which amounts to digital “space” on the Internet’s pipelines). In addition, we’ll need to contract with programmers and other tech-savvy people (who don’t come cheap!).

Also, to maintain and manage the Catholic wiki will require a good deal of manpower—which means a significant expense, yes—but one that’s worth it.

Finally, we’ll need to advertise our Catholic wiki all over the Internet so that people know it’s there and start using it.

All of this is outside of our budget at the present time.

Thus, we must turn to you for help to get this exciting new project off the ground.

Your tax-deductible donation of $35 … $50 … or perhaps $100 or more is urgently needed so that we can proceed.

It’s Sitting on the Launching Pad

We have everything ready to begin this project. All we need is the $85,000.

As with all our work here at Catholic Answers, our funding comes from generous, selfless supporters such as you—Catholics who love the faith and eagerly want to share it with others.

This project, in particular, has the potential to make a greater impact on the world—via the power of the Internet—than just about anything we’ve ever done at Catholic Answers.

I hope that if you share my enthusiasm, you’ll click here to help support this project and all our work for the defense of the faith and the salvation of souls.

We can’t do it without you!

Sincerely in Christ,

Karl Keating
